About My-TS.org

How we ethically provide a global TeamSpeak server directory

Our Mission

At My-TS, we aim to create the largest and most accurate database of TeamSpeak servers globally. Our platform allows users to discover servers that match their preferences through a centralized and powerful search tool. By providing this service, we make it easier for users to find their ideal TeamSpeak server while ensuring an ethical and low-impact approach to scanning and maintaining server data.

Ethical Scanning Process

We take great care to ensure our scanning process is ethical, minimally intrusive, and respectful of server administrators. Below is an overview of our scanning methodology:

  • We retrieve IP address ranges by country using publicly available data from services like IP2Location.
  • Our scanner sends a single ping request to each IP to check for a response. If no response is received, we move to the next IP.
  • If a ping response is received, we test the default TeamSpeak query port (10011). If the response is not TeamSpeak-specific ("TS3"), we attempt the default TeamSpeak SSH port (10022).
  • When a valid TeamSpeak response is detected, we fetch public server data using the serverinfo command and store the response in our database.

The primary scan runs approximately once per month and only processes servers that respond to the above checks. Server administrators can opt out of the scan using any of the following methods:

  • Submit their IP address to our opt-out form (coming soon).
  • Set weblist to false in ts3server.ini.
  • Block ICMP protocol on their server to prevent ping requests.
  • Block our scanner's IP address (152.53.64.213).
  • Claim ownership of the server on our website and manually delete it from the database.

These options ensure that server administrators retain full control over their data while maintaining a balance between transparency and privacy.

Keeping Data Fresh

Servers that pass our initial validation are added to our main database. To maintain accurate and up-to-date information:

  • We perform a refresh scan on all tracked servers every 10-30 minutes.
  • The refresh scan uses the same low-load methodology as the main scan.
  • If a server becomes unresponsive during the refresh scan, it is marked as offline and will be deleted after 7 days.

User Control

Server owners can claim their servers through our website. After claiming a server, owners can:

  • Update server details, such as banners, descriptions, and additional information.
  • Remove their server from our database if they no longer wish to be listed.

Data and Privacy

We only collect publicly accessible data, such as:

  • Server connection details (e.g., IP address and ports).
  • Public server statistics (e.g., number of connected users, but not usernames).

No private or sensitive information is collected. Our scanning methods comply with ethical standards and are designed to minimize server load.

We are committed to transparency and ethical practices. If you have any questions or concerns about our service, please contact us.
